Pros & Cons of GPS
Pros:
GPS use is efficient and effective. It can provide accurate pinpoint locations. We can estimate the time of our trips by using GPS. Most GPS applications on mobile or other electronic devices perform a user friendly way and we can easily save our searched locations and plan our trips.
GPS can prevent us from loss and steals. We can keep track of objects which a GPS locator and find there locations. We can use GPS to monitor our house, or even children.
GPS provides people safety in many fields. If we go travelling and get lost, GPS can tell us where we are and save our lives. If we are driving, GPS can tell us what speed we are driving at and warn us if we drive too fast.
Cons:
But GPS also has limitations. Some discrepancies and fading errors may occur when using GPS. In the areas where the signals are weak or the weather condition is really terrible, such as underground or storming, GPS may tell us wrong information.
Some GPS applications are voiceless and they display in images only. This will distract people's attention, which causes accidents to happen. For example, assume a driver is driving, because he/she just want to have a look at the GPS screen to know which street he/she is heading to, his/her attention will not be concentrated on driving. This definitely will increase the danger of car accident.
Constructions and road closures are not always included in the information that GPS provided. Thus we may get wrong information. Clock inaccuracy is also another concern when using GPS.
